EPIC Law is the Data Fiduciary in respect of any personal data collected through this website or through direct communications with the chambers.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

EPIC Law collects only such personal data as is necessary for the purpose for which it is collected. Specifically:

Email address: When you write to the chambers at chambers@iura.in
Name: Where provided by you in your email communication
Contact number: Where provided by you voluntarily in your email communication
Matter description: The factual summary of your legal matter, as provided by you in your email

This website does not use analytics tracking, advertising cookies, or third-party data collection tools (other than Google Fonts, which is loaded via Google's CDN). No browsing behaviour data is collected or stored by EPIC Law.

3. Purpose of Processing

The personal data you provide is processed for the following purposes only:

Reviewing your matter enquiry to determine whether EPIC Law is in a position to assist

Communicating with you in response to your enquiry

Scheduling and conducting a conference if the matter is accepted

Maintaining records of communications for privilege and professional conduct purposes

4. Basis of Processing

Processing is carried out on the basis of your consent, which is given when you write to the chambers voluntarily. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to chambers@iura.in.

Where an advocate-client relationship is established, processing may also be carried out to the extent necessary to discharge the chambers' legal obligations under the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India Rules.

5. Data Retention

Where no advocate-client relationship is established, your email and related data will be retained for no longer than is necessary to complete the review of your enquiry and communicate the outcome to you — typically no longer than 90 days from the date of your email.

Where an advocate-client relationship is established, matter files and communications are retained for a period consistent with the chambers' professional obligations and applicable limitation periods — ordinarily six years from the conclusion of the matter.

6. Disclosure of Personal Data

EPIC Law does not sell, share, or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties, except:

Where required by a court order, statutory authority, or legal obligation

To the extent necessary to brief co-counsel or senior counsel in a matter you have retained EPIC Law for, with your knowledge

To Google's servers to the extent that Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN (no personal data is transmitted in this process)

7. Your Rights as a Data Principal

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights as a Data Principal:

Right to Access

You may request a summary of the personal data held by the chambers in respect of you.

Right to Correction and Erasure

You may request correction of inaccurate data or erasure of your personal data, subject to any legal retention obligations.

Right to Grievance Redressal

You may raise a grievance with the Grievance Officer named below. Grievances will be responded to within a reasonable time.

Right to Nominate

You may nominate an individual to exercise your data rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect prior processing.

Grievances will be acknowledged within 48 working hours and resolved within 30 days, wherever possible.

9. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. Email communications are transmitted via encrypted channels.

No method of electronic transmission is entirely secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, you will be notified in accordance with the applicable provisions of the DPDP Act.

10. Cookies and Tracking

This website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics. The website is a static site hosted on Firebase Hosting.

Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers. By visiting this site, your IP address may be transmitted to Google's servers as part of that request. This is standard browser behaviour and is outside EPIC Law's control. Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for further information.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the date of the latest revision. Continued use of this website after any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
